My Barroso Bullshit Bingo
Normally I blog in my mothertongue, Danish, but this post has to be in English as it is part of a game, a tradition, played amongst the EU blogosphere: The Barroso Bullshit Bingo.
On Wednesday 9 am European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso will hold his annual State of the Union speech (Twitter hashtag #soteu): As mentioned by Jon Worth, the rules are:
The idea, as in previous years, is to predict the buzzwords Barroso will use in the speech and see how well you score. Names of other EU institutions, and politicians are not allowed in your list. MEPs who will be in the chamber listening to Barroso are especially welcome to shout ‘Bingo’ very loudly while he is speaking if their words crop up.
So, here my 10 words are:
- Real European Added Value.
- Green, Smart and Inclusive Growth.
- Sustainable growth/economy,
- Solidarity.
- Jobs.
- Economical stability.
- Global partners.
- Ressources.
- Shared responsibility.
- Every euro well spent
As one might see there is one big theme I have chosen to believe in: The discussion about the size of the EU budget. All these words, phrases, etc. are incentitives to investments and shared economical responsibility rather than austerity. This will be his clue.
Play along!
